Fabulous Find Friday: Cravebox

You know those little Facebook ads that are always on the side of your Newsfeed? Rarely do I ever click on one, but I saw something called Cravebox, looked kinda cool, so I thought I would check it out. SO glad I did.

It is basically a monthly “discovery service” that you subscribe to for $10 a month. Each month you get a box delivered by FedEx with a few products to try. Some are sample sized but some are full-sized. The $10 also includes the cost of shipping. And for the size of the box, at least half of that cost has got to go to shipping. We all know shipping is not cheap.

They offer monthly subscriptions as well as Limited Edition boxes. The first run of subscriptions went well and they opened up more slots. You just sign up at www.cravebox.com to join. You can also opt in for the “lottery” of spots for the Limited Edition boxes. You decide what categories you would be interested in and they will contact you if you get a spot.

I received my first box last month. I was shocked at the size of the box – much bigger than I thought it would be. There was a full size Shea Sugar Body Scrub in Coconut Lime, a sample of Lipton’s new Tea & Honey, a sample of dried plums, a nice sized sample of Intense Repair cream, and a sample of chocolates. Here is the full low down with purchasing links from their site: http://www.cravebox.com/subscription-boxes.htm

The body scrub alone was worth the $10. I love the smell, and it is the perfect consistency – not too dry and coarse, but not too runny.

The chocolates – truffles by Guylian – were also yummy. A little high in calories for my daily intake, but a nice treat.

I have yet to try the Repair Cream. I left it for my husband who always has really dry skin.

My kids seem to enjoy the dried plums.

The biggest surprise? The Lipton Tea & Honey. I am NOT an iced tea drinker. Especially green tea. But this iced tea is SO good I have been drinking it every day! I have tried 2 of the flavors and Mango Pineapple is my favorite. I now crave it – which is kinda fitting since I got it in my Cravebox.

I was so delighted with all of the great samples. I cannot wait for this month’s!!!

(so you know, I was not compensated for this review. I pay $10 just like the rest of you.)

Hi from SITS Saturday sharefest. What a great find, I’m like you so many ads that I’ve started to tune them out. I’m going to check them out but I have a sneaking suspicion that it will be US residents only :( but I’ll pass it on to my network :)

Love your site and I’ll be back.

    Have a great day.

Hi Gillian! Thanks for stopping by. I think it is only US. I need to start paying attention to that. I have quite a few Canadians & Europeans that read my blog, so I need to check those details out.
I will definitely be checking out your blog!

Surprises in the mail are great! Thanks for sharing this (I too ignore many of those ads). Have fun on your date night (I have one of those tonight too)! Stopping by from SITS!

  6. I heard about this once before…I’m intrigued! I would love doing a kid version if it’s available…love having the kiddies try new things! Visiting from sits!

  7. {Melinda} I must have this! :) I love trying new products, but I hate spending a bundle on some wonderful-looking tube of something that I don’t end up liking. This would be a fun, inexpensive way of trying out few new things and finding new favorite products! You may have inspired me to take the plunge.

    Visiting from SITS!
